July has been another wonderfully busy month for us, with little sign of slowing as we help existing and new clients get set for a strong Q4.
We followed the Chancellor’s Mansion House speech with interest, as the UK Government laid out an ambitious vision to transform financial markets and position the UK as a global fintech leader by 2035.
In this edition, we explore initiatives from HM Treasury, the Bank of England and the FCA, which aim to cut red tape, reform public markets, accelerate digital transformation and boost skills in an effort to drive growth and competitiveness.
The spotlight on skills coincides with our launch of SoftSkillingIt, an online course (also delivered as a one-day workshop) designed to address the growing demand for soft skills training by employers and the lack of supply by resource-constrained academic institutions. Aligned with our 3Cs offering – campaigns, content and coaching – the course tackles critical thinking, emotional intelligence, teamwork, adaptability, resilience and more – all key for personal, professional and organisational success.
As ever, we’re proud to support our clients’ growth, from strategy and storytelling to training and our new ‘AI gym’ sessions. If you have any questions on this, we’d love to hear from you. In the meantime, enjoy the summer and take time to pause, reflect and get ready for what will undoubtedly be a busy Q4.
Kind regards,
Julia Streets MBE

The UK government is charting an ambitious course to become the global fintech leader and advanced financial centre by 2035. Our latest blog explores this comprehensive strategy, highlighting the recent major regulatory overhaul towards “regulating for growth”. Drivers for growth include faster authorisations, dedicated scale-up support, an overhaul of the UK listings regime and a focus on attracting the right talent.
Key to the government’s vision to transform financial markets, are the Leeds reforms and the Wholesale Financial Markets Digital Strategy (WFMDS), designed to drive this digital revolution by leveraging innovations like DLT, AI, pioneering digital instruments and sandboxes and modernising payments infrastructure. We have taken a closer look at how these strategic initiatives are shaping our sector.
As AI revolutionises FinTech, soft skills are becoming every organisation’s greatest asset. In her latest blog, our CEO, Julia Streets MBE, Founder of SoftSkillingIt, explores why critical thinking, emotional intelligence, resilience and adaptability are the new ‘hard skills’ and foundational for both organisational success and employee growth. Discover how prioritising these essential skills will drive innovation and productivity in our evolving industry.
Google is rolling out its new “AI Mode” for search in the UK, offering conversational, AI-generated answers instead of the traditional list of links. While Google suggests this enables more complex queries, the shift is causing significant concern. Publishers and businesses, who rely on search for web traffic, fear the change will drastically reduce clicks and upend existing revenue models. The full impact on digital advertising and website traffic remains a critical point of industry focus.
The launch of the eagerly-awaited ChatGPT-5 is expected at some point in August, with some sources suggesting it could be ‘days’ away. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman confirmed that the new model was “coming soon.” This next-gen model is expected to bring improved reasoning, longer memory, multimodal input, multiple versions (full, mini, nano), and a potential open-source release.
Anthropic, the makers of Claude, has launched a new financial analysis solution. The platform brings together disparate data—from live market feeds to internal systems like Databricks and Snowflake—into a single, auditable interface. By cross-referencing information and linking directly to the source, the tool boosts reliability and dramatically accelerates demanding tasks such as risk modelling. Developed with key partners, the solution is live on AWS Marketplace, with a Google Cloud launch to follow.
Innovate Finance recently released its H1 2025 FinTech Investment Landscape report. The report highlights that Global FinTech investment reached $24 billion in H1 2025 (up 6% from H2 24). The US remains dominant, with the UAE gaining second place from the UK, which now holds third place globally, leading Europe with $1.5 billion raised. The UK’s top firms demonstrate strong profitability amidst rising global competition. The report contains more valuable insights and is available via the press release link above.
